Jayden Best is the head coach of Rugby League at Stretton State College. Jayden has had a passion for Rugby League from a young age, playing for the Redcliffe Dolphins since age four. Jayden played 15 years with the Dolphins before a short stint with the Easts Tigers. Along the way, Jayden won many memorable grand finals in both the Colts and BRL competitions. Jayden also represented QLD and Australia with the Universities team, touring Fiji in 2014.
During his high school years, Jayden participated in Redcliffe State High School’s Rugby League Excellence program, which offered him a number of opportunities within the sport. During this time, he also completed a school-based traineeship with the National Rugby League, coaching and assisting in the development of young players. With this experience coupled with many key HPE teachers who influenced his path, his passion for teaching and coaching grew. Post University, Jayden re-joined his former school to assist with coaching within their Rugby League Excellence program allowing him to further cement his career aspirations.
Jayden is driven to get the best out of his players, equipping them with the skills to prosper on and off the Rugby League field. Jayden holds the belief that success is not measured by results but rather the ability to learn and overcome adversity, a belief he hopes to also cement in his players.
