OZ Tag

Our Sports Academy students participated in the QLD All Schools OZ Tag Competition over the weekend of July 27 and 28. For our first tournament, our teams played unbelievably well. After a touch round robin, the boys narrowly missed playing in the finals on count back and the girls went down in the quarterfinals. More impressively, Leilani Tuqiri, Bailee Williams and Xavier Atoa were selected in the QLD merit team from the tournament. Well done everyone.

Petero Civoniceva Visits

It was a successful afternoon of trials for our inaugural Rugby League Academy. Boys and girls from years 4 through to 12 came from various schools, excited to be part of the new and exciting program being added to the Stretton State College Sports Academy in 2019. Representatives from the NRL, Souths Logan Magpies and Souths Sunnybank RLC added to the excitement of students, running sessions for various age groups.

The afternoon was capped off with a visit from Petero Civoniceva. Petero told the students all about the Fiji Tour that they will embark on in 2019. Well done to all boys and girls who trialed today and good luck with selections!
